Causse Rouge

Causse Rouge

Located in the appellation Bordeaux plateaux, this vineyard selected by TERRA BURDIGALA, is monitored, like any others, by our team all year round. Our work in the vineyard (leaf removal, etc...) is always based on our two major concerns which are optimal maturity and perfect sanitary standards. Regarding the vinification, our principles are simple, this means gentle extractions in order to respect the fruit and produce a tender and fresh style of wine, with great flavour. Ageing for a short period of time and early bottling contribute to preserve the fruit flavour.

April 5th, 2006About 2004 vintage

.. This was during a tasting of white and red Bordeaux wines. The 102 wines which passed the entrance tasting of 242 wines tasted by 9 wine professionals. ... The tasted sample’s are between a €3.99 and € 15.00 and are all on the Dutch market. The entry level for the Bordeaux wines was at 13.5 on a scale of 1 to 20. That’s why 140 wine didn’t pass the pre-tasting which is a bad thing.. ..The biggest surprise for us was Causse Rouge 2004 of Terra Burdigala, this wine is also placed in the category 7 till 10 euro. Henk Maas (Le Vin en Direct) got this powerful wine from Bordeaux. The label makes it clear : 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and that what you taste! We are sure that we can use this kind of wines on the Dutch market. Well done Henk!
